Communique! Summer! Riesling!

There's a kind of tidal wave of stuff happening as we get ready for this, the biggest and wildest Summer of Riesling yet. Get Ready. To whet your appetite, here's a whiff, redolent of orange blossoms and lychee, of what's already happening to celebrate the Summer of Riesling 2011:

Heart, San Francisco, CA
For our launch on Wednesday the 22nd, we're going to be hosting a literary event put on by Litquake--the West Coast's biggest literary organization--that will feature readings from authors Seth Harwood and Anne Marino.  Harwood's novel, Young Junius, is a gritty, urban crime novel (think a very austere, gravelly Austrian Riesling), and Marino's novel, The Collapsible World, is about a postmodern, dysfunctional family, with lots of attitude (think a complex, intense Mosel Riesling from Knebel).  We'll also be playing German Expressionist films on our projector all night long.

Our big kickoff event will be next week, June 29th at 7pm (we take our time in Miami), but it will be with Hearth and Terroir's Paul Grieco and Marco Canora in attendance!!!  4 courses, dessert, tons of Rieslings!

By-the-glass pours for white wines this summer will be only Riesling flights. This week we are starting with a $5 flight of 3 Rieslings and we will offer a case discount to anyone who buys all 3 bottles in the flight. We will do a different flight every week, and a different Riesling-themed appetizer plate every month. We will offer our upstairs tasting room free of charge to anyone who wishes to hang out, eat, and drink!
